JustGiving Badges

What are JustGiving Badges?

JustGiving Badges are awarded at key points throughout your fundraising journey. As well as being a big virtual pat on the back from us, they’re also a handy way to remind your friends to donate to your page.

Why do I have to connect via Facebook?

JustGiving Badges are designed to be shared with your friends. Logging in through Facebook means we can send you a notification as soon as your new badge is ready to be shared, and you can start spreading the word.

Why did you invite me to use JustGiving Badges?

We’re launching JustGiving Badges to an exclusive test group. This is a brand new product for JustGiving and we’d really like to hear your feedback on it.

What badges can I earn?

To begin with, the badges you earn will relate to the amount you’ve raised for your chosen cause, as well as the percentage of your fundraising target you’ve achieved. Keep your eyes peeled for future developments though – we’ve got some exciting ideas on the way...

Where can I see all the badges I’ve earned?

We’ll send you a Facebook notification every time you earn a new badge. Clicking on the notification will take you to your online trophy cabinet, where you can view all the badges you’ve earned so far.

Do I need a Twitter account and a Facebook account to earn badges?

No, this application only requires you to have a Facebook account. You can still share you badges on Twitter if you want to though!

Do I have to share them on Facebook?

Nope, you don’t have to – but why not eh? Badges make you look cool and they encourage more people to donate to your fundraising page. It’s a win-win situation.

Is this the same thing as the JustGiving Facebook app?

No, JustGiving Badges is completely separate from the regular JustGiving app. It’s a whole new product designed to celebrate your fundraising achievements, and share them with your friends.

Why is this Beta and what does that even mean?

Beta means that the app has not been fully released to our entire audience yet. That means we’re still testing the product and making improvements, so anyone accessing the app at this point is getting an exclusive sneak preview!

Can I change my fundraising target?

You can change your fundraising target whenever you like. Just log in to your JustGiving account, click on ‘Your pages’ and then edit your page.

Do I need a JustGiving page to use the JustGiving Badges app?

Yes. This app is for fundraisers to celebrate and share their successes. If you don’t have a JustGiving fundraising page yet, why not set one up so you can get involved?

I’m outside the UK. Can I still try JustGiving Badges?

JustGiving Badges will work for people outside the UK, but at present the badges are only displayed in pounds sterling. If we launch the app fully we’ll include all the currencies on JustGiving.

Why can’t I see notifications on my mobile?

Facebook only show mobile notifications for their own apps. Notifications from third parties (like JustGiving) are only shown on the desktop version.

There’s delay between hitting a new milestone on JustGiving and getting my Facebook notification. What’s that about?

Good question! It’s more efficient for us to update the data for all of our badge holders on an hourly basis. This also means we won’t bombard you with endless badge notifications if you receive lots of donations in the same hour.

Can I stop the app if I want to?

Yes – you can stop the app from accessing your Facebook page whenever you want. Just log in to your Facebook account and go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Apps’ and then ‘Edit App’.  Find JustGiving Badges in your app list and delete it.

If you’ve also shared your badges on Twitter, you can remove the app by going to ‘Settings & Help’, then clicking on ‘Settings’ and then ‘Apps’. From here you just need to find the app in the list and click on ‘Revoke access’.
