To look out for our users, we run ID checks on every Page owner, so you can trust that they’re exactly who they say they are. We also hold their full name and address.
The JustGiving Crowdfunding platform allows users to raise funds for a good cause that isn't necessarily covered by a registered charity. Due to this, we ask that every page owner clearly explains within the story what they hope to achieve and where the money raised will be spent - donors should be able to see how their donation would be spent when they read through a page story.
I have concerns about a Page, what should I do?
If there are any concerns with a page, we advise people to contact the page owner directly to discuss in the first instance - situations often arise out of a simple misunderstanding or miscommunication. You can contact the page owner by clicking the ‘contact’ link on a page (which appears at the bottom by the page owner's name).
The page owner should be able to let you know a little more about their project and when you can expect to see the funds raised in action.
When should I report a Page?
Whilst we can’t get involved in personal disputes, every page owner has an obligation to spend the funds they raise as promised. If you believe a page owner has failed to do this or is misrepresenting their project, please let us know and we can review this internally and advise accordingly.
Failing to spend the funds as described constitutes a breach of our Terms of Service and is a potential criminal matter.
