JustGiving offers different ways to raise money, depending on where donations are being sent and how you're fundraising. This guide will help you understand the differences between our page types and find the right help articles for your page.
Charity Fundraising Pages
A charity fundraising page is used to raise money for a registered charity on JustGiving. With these pages:
- Donations are paid directly to your chosen charity by JustGiving
- Eligible donations from UK taxpayers can receive Gift Aid
- Pages can remain open indefinitely
- You can fundraise for one charity per page
To create a fundraising page, the charity must already be registered with JustGiving. If you can't find the charity you're looking for, see our can't find my charity? article.
If you'd like to support more than one charity, you'll need to create a separate fundraising page for each charity. See our fundraising for more than one charity guide for more information.
If you're raising money with other people, each fundraiser can create their own fundraising page and link them together using a team page. See our how to create a team guide for more information.
What do charity fundraising pages look like?
Once your page has been created, you'll be given a personalised web address (URL), for example:
Most fundraising pages created directly on JustGiving will look similar to the examples shown in our fundraising page help articles.
Pages created through a charity fundraising website
Some charities have dedicated fundraising websites powered by JustGiving for specific events, campaigns or fundraising activities. For example:
- Christmas Jumper Day
- Coffee Morning
- Cycle the Month
If you created your page through one of these charity websites, it will look different from a standard JustGiving fundraising page including more charity branding, event-specific features and some different page settings.
Although these pages are powered by JustGiving and donations are still paid directly to the charity, some help article instructions may differ depending on the website you're using.
If the steps shown in a help article don't match what you see on your page, check whether your page was created through a charity fundraising website, as we have specific help articles for these types of pages.
Crowdfunding Pages
A Crowdfunding page is used to raise money for a personal cause, community project, or something that isn't covered by a registered charity on JustGiving. They can also be used to collect donations for multiple causes on the same page.
With a Crowdfunding page:
- Donations are paid to your UK personal bank account
- You'll need to verify your identity and bank details before withdrawing funds
- It's your responsibility to use the funds for the purpose described on your page
- Pages are created with a standard duration of 120 days, although this can be extended
- Gift Aid cannot be added to donations
For inspiration, see our guide to what Crowdfunding can be used for.
Crowdfunding pages have different features to charity fundraising pages, so some help article instructions may not apply.
You can identify a Crowdfunding page by its web address, which includes /crowdfunding/ in the URL.
