If you’re no longer able to take part in your event, we understand this can be disappointing. Any donations already made to your JustGiving fundraising page won’t be affected.
What happens to donations already made?
Donations made to your fundraising page are given directly to the charity you’re supporting. This means:
- Donations still go to the charity, even if you can’t take part in the event
- Donations can’t be automatically refunded, as the funds have already been passed on
- Your supporters don’t need to take any action
Can donors get a refund?
Refunds aren’t guaranteed and depend on the charity’s approval. If a donor would like to request a refund, you'll need to contact the charity directly to discuss this. If the charity approves, they can contact our support team here to let us know*.
What are my options now?
If you can’t take part in your event, you may choose to:
- Keep your fundraising page open so donations can continue going to the charity
- Update your page to let supporters know about the change
- Close your fundraising page if you no longer wish to fundraise
You can find step‑by‑step guidance here: How to close a fundraising page
Please note that we're unable to refund donations made over 6 months. For more information on our refund process, please visit this article - How do I request a refund on my donation
